Product Description
Type | Fountain pen |
Product Name | Parker Vacumatic Maxima |
Manufacturer and Year | Parker USA - circa 1939 (The imprint on the barrel is not clear. The date mark on the nib is 6, so it is a later replacement.) |
Length | 5-3/8 inches (Maxima size). |
Filling System | Vacumatic speedline filler is in working condition. The filling system has been restored by us with a new diaphragm, and it has been tested. (We will guarantee the filling system for one year from purchase.) |
Color | Golden pearl body and cap with nickel plated trim-- poor visibility thru the body. |
Nib | 14k fine nib. Writes very smoothly with a wet line. Lots of tipping material in evidence. (The nib is probably a replacement, as we think these originally came with two tone nib.) |
Condition
|
Gorgeous restored condition with no cracks or chips, though there are signs of light use. Very shiny. The imprint is good though the date isn't readable. The gold filled trim is excellent with some brassing on the bottom jewel only. The cap jewel is black but the barrel jewel is striped. The cap has a wide Chevron style band. We replaced the sac and tested the pen and found no leaks. This is a great pen which should be a dependable writer for years and years to come. We will guarantee it against leaks for a period of one year from purchase, though with proper care and handling the filling system will last for tens of years whithout problem. |
