Product Name Toscana, Limited Edition. #459/500 (imprinted on a disk on the top of the cap).
Manufacturer and Year Ancora, Italy -- 2000s.
Length 5-3/8" and quite stout.
Filling System Takes standard international cartridges or converters. A working converter is installed.
Color Blue and yellow pearlescent resin with clear areas. Sterling band on the top of the cap. The rest of the trim is silver colored, probably chrome or steel.
Nib BROAD 18k gold nib (masked in silver color to match the trim). There's a bit of plating wear on the masking, but that should not affect the writing performance.
Condition Excellent condition in box. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large-sized pen in a stunning color combination, regal in appearance, with great shine and pearlescence. The cap band has some tarnish and plating wear along the edges. The clip has some microscratches and a blotch of plating wear on the upper edge. The section threads have plating wear and some rust. The clip ring looks excellent with appropriate antique marks. The cap ring and numbering imprints are clear. The cap and barrel look beautiful with no notable marks or scratches. It is currently housed in an Ancora box; the box was originally covered in faux leather, which was disintegrating. We removed most of the outer layer and the surface is now woven cloth.
