Product Description
Type Modern cartridge/converter fountain pen
Product Name Apollo
Manufacturer and Year Arbutus New York, unknown - 2000s (Although the company is called Arbutus New York, we suspect that the company is based somewhere in Asia, either Singapore or Indonesia. They primarily make watches, and there's no indication that they currently make any writing instruments.)
Length 5-3/8" long
Filling System Takes standard international cartridges, or a cartridge/converter can be used to fill with ink. We found a thread on FPN with a discussion that suggests that a Waterman converter may fit best. (Neither of the Schmidt converters we tried would fit, so we are shipping it with a cartridge.)
Color Black with gold hardware.
Nib MEDIUM two-toned steel nib, marked "Iridium Point Germany".
Condition Excellent condition, in box. Light to moderate scratching all over. The look in hand is fairly nice, but under magnification the flaws are easily seen. We suspect that the two pieces at the clip's hinge point were once gold-plated, but they are completely brassed. There's also a tiny bit of brassing on the edges of the cap rings, and at the very front of the section. The rest of the trim looks pretty good. The clip has a magnetic seal to help keep it on the pen. Comes packaged in an Arbutus New York box with outer cardboard sleeve.
