Filling System It is a piston filler. There's a window thru which you can view the ink.
Color Black pearl and gray resin with black end pieces. Chrome plated trim. There's a blue synthetic quartz cabochon, in the color of the EU flag, embedded in the top of the pen. The cap band features images of the DNA double helix, factories, trains, and stars representing the contributions and history of the continent.
Nib MEDIUM 18k nib, marked with an M on the underside of the feed. A very nice, smooth writing pen.
Condition Near mint condition. Very light handwear, but overall the pen is in great shape. Some of the chrome plating on the high points in the cap band is chipped in two spots (note the "U" in the first picture). No scratches, dents, dings, cracks, or chips. Aurora hangtag is still attached to clip.
