Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Aurora Optima "Primavera" limited edition, this is #4043/7500
Manufacturer and Year Aurora, Italy -- 1998
Length 5"
Filling System It is a piston filler. It has a viewing window to see ink amounts and utilizes a "hidden reservoir" feature where you can eke out an extra page of writing after turning the piston all the way to the left. It is not an actual reservoir and is just pushing the last of the ink in the barrel into the feed.
Color Green Auroloide resin, black end pieces. Gold plated trim.
Nib Medium 18k nib with a subtle italic grind. It looks like it started as a broad but based on our writing sample, it writes more like a medium in terms of maximum line width. See the writing sample below. (There's a bit of blue ink on the right tine in the photos, but it came off with a small amount of water.)
Condition Near mint condition with only very light handwear. These Optimas are famous for having cracks in the resin at the end of the barrel, and so we gave this pen a thorough test and inspection and found no dents or dings or cracks. A really gorgeous pen. Ships with Primavera box and sleeve, paperwork, and sealed bottle of ink. It looks like it's black ink.
