Product Description
Type Fountain pen, limited edition 2 of 15.
Product Name Unknown, this is one of a series of Bexley pens with Russian-style handpainted images. We think the image painted on the barrel depicts a Russian or Ukrainian city, but after quite a bit of research we were still unable to determine the city.
Manufacturer and Year Bexley, USA -- 2000s (?? we're not exactly sure, but we've seen other handpainted pens from Bexley that were made sometime in the last 20 years).
Length 5-5/16" (6-7/8" posted)
Filling System Standard international cartridges, or you can use bottled ink with the converter that's installed.
Color The cap, end finial, and section are black. The barrel is painted with a scene of a snowy harbor, with buildings all around. Sterling silver clip (marked 925 on the top of the stem that attaches the clip to the cap) in a twisted rope pattern.
Nib Medium 18k Bock nib. It's two tone, large, and a little springy.
Condition Excellent + condition. The artwork on the barrel is detailed and lovely. The clip looks great, with no scratches, dents, or dings. The cap is largely smooth, with light microscratching. The section and finial both look great.
We're not entirely sure of this pen's history. Details on Bexley pens are sometimes difficult to track down. We have seen other handpainted Bexley pens, made for Allan Gross of Pens Plus, but the ones we've seen all have the shop name engraved on the cap, and this one does not.
