Product Description
Type Ballpoint pen and Mechanical Pencil Set
Product Name Ecridor Retro
Manufacturer and Year Caran D'Ache, Switzerland -- probably made in the last 10 years. This classic model and pattern is currently offered.
Length Ballpoint Pen: 5-1/8"; Mechanical Pencil: 5-3/16"
Filling System The ballpoint takes a few different refills. The Ecridor is meant to be used with Caran d'Ache Goliath ballpoint refills. As it is configured though, Parker refills also work with a small amount removed from the plastic top of the refill. If a slightly shorter spring is used, then Sheaffer refills will also fit. It takes a little adjustment but it can be used successfully with many possibilities. The Caran D'Ache Goliath refills are arguably worth seeking out - the ink is much smoother than most ballpoint inks, and the company claims that it will write for 8000m, or 600 A4-sized pages. The tip extends and retracts via a clicker method. The refill can be switched out by unscrewing the clicker to remove it. The mechanical pencil takes 0.7mm leads. We will include a packet of leads.
Color Palladium plated over brass bodies, faceted with a guilloche pattern on each face. The pattern is called "Chevron" by Caran d'Ache.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a monochromatic pen and pencil set with good weighting and with a shiny, modern appearance. The chevron pattern on both pieces is crisp. The ballpoint pen is in beautiful condition. It has light microscratching on the cone and the clicker. The clip is perfect. The mechanical pencil has some tarnish marks on the clicker (along the bottom edge), along the edges of the panel under the clip, and on the cone. The clip looks very good. The imprints on both pieces are clear.
