Type Ballpoint pen
Product Name Ecridor Retro
Manufacturer and Year Caran D'Ache, Switzerland -- probably made in the last 10 years. This classic model and pattern is currently offered.
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Takes a few different refills. The Ecridor is meant to be used with Caran d'Ache Goliath ballpoint refills and a working blue one is installed. As it is configured though, Parker refills also work with a small amount removed from the plastic top of the refill. If a slightly shorter spring is used, then Sheaffer refills will also fit. It takes a little adjustment but it can be used successfully with many possibilities. The Caran D'Ache Goliath refills are arguably worth seeking out - the ink is much smoother than most ballpoint inks, and the company claims that it will write for 8000m, or 600 A4-sized pages. The tip extends and retracts via a clicker method. The refill can be switched out by unscrewing the clicker to remove it.
Color Palladium plated over brass body, faceted pen with a guilloche pattern on each face. The pattern is called "Chevron" by Caran d'Ache.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks. This is a monochromatic pen with good weighting. The body has moderate scratching all over. The clip has microscratching and a few tiny dings on the upper left side where there is also a small bit of brassing (see photo). The clicker is tarnished at the base. The cone has some small, deep scratches. The chevron and lined patterning is intact. The imprint is clear.
