Product Description
Type fountain pen and pencil set in original box
Product Name Pearltex
Manufacturer and Year Carters, USA, 1930s
Length Including the ringtop hardwear the pen is 4-3/8" and the pencil is 4-1/4".
Filling System Lever filling system, we've fully restored it with a silicone sac and it's working very well. The pencil takes 1.1mm (or "thick) leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. We will include leads.
Color The color is sort of an amber pearl, with black end pieces and gold plated trim.
Nib FINE semi-flexible nib is gold. It's marked "Carter INX Pen."
Condition Excellent condition with some minor wear. There are some spots of wear and brassing especially on the lever of the pen and on the end-piece bands of the pencil (see photos). There's a quarter-inch scratch on the lower end of the pen that looks a bit like a crack but is not, and extends onto the band and end piece a little. There are a few tiny indents in the large gold plated cone of the pencil. Still, both pieces are looking beautiful, and look great in their fancy, interesting box. Both are working very well.
