Product Description
Type Crescent filling vintage fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Conklin Crescent 20P (it's marked on the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Conklin; Toledo, Ohio -- 1920s.
Length 4-1/2-inches including the cap's ring hardware.
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with a gold plated crescent and ring top hardware.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Gold Conklin Toledo #2 nib smooth with nice tipping. It's what we would call fully flexible, and gives easy line variation from a thin fine to a fat double broad under very little pressure. There are a few toolmarks on the nib, which appears to have been straightened. We did additional straightening and smoothing, and it writes very nicely. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips, dings, dents, or personalziation. There are small marks of plating wear on the edges of the crescent and the ring top hardware. Basic hand wear makes the imprints a little faint, but still certainly readable. The pen shows only minor discoloration, and it's working very well after full restoration.
