Product Description
Type Crescent filling vintage fountain pen in great condition with a nicely flexible nib.
Product Name Crescent, Model 20P (the imprint reads "Trade Mark 20P" at the end of the barrel). This is a ringtop model.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in USA -- 1920s.
Length 4-3/8", excluding ringtop hardware.
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold filled crescent.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM Conklin #2 Toledo gold nib is very smooth with nice tipping. It's marked "L" on the nib. We consider this almost full flex. The tines spread very easily with just light pressure for good line variation from fine to broad. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The chasing pattern looks great, and the texture on the cap look great, with just a bit of smoothing on the barrel. The imprint is very clear. The locking mechanism beneath the crescent moves easily. The barrel imprints show a little wear but are easily read. The ringtop hardware has some brassing and plating wear, but is securely attached. The crescent has tiny touches of brassing and plating wear on the edges. The color of the hard rubber is very slightly faded on the barrel, but still quite dark. The pen is fully restored and working well.
