Product Description
Type Crescent filling vintage fountain pen in great condition with a fully flexible nib.
Product Name Crescent, Model 25P (the imprint reads "Trade Mark 25 P" at the end of the barrel). The 2 is for the nib size. The 5 is for a slender pen and a P is for a short pen.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in USA -- early 1920s.
Length 4-3/8".
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold filled trim consisting of a ring top, crescent, and 1/4" cap band. The cap band marks the gold as 1/5th 14k.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Conklin #2 Toledo gold nib is very smooth with nice tipping. The tines spread very easily for strong line variation. It is enough for us to call it fully flexible. The tines have a bit of a wrinkle to them as well, but it does not affect writing. See our writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The chasing and color are perfect on the cap and only faded towards the end of the barrel. The trim has a few marks on it, especially on the underside of the lever, but no plating wear. The locking mechanism for the crescent moves well. The imprints are crisp. It ships in a vintage Conklin box and is fully restored.
