Product Name Crescent #3, the pattern is called alternating pinstripe and filigree. Slip cap, no clip (as designed)
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in Toledo, Ohio -- 1920s.
Length Just over 5-1/16 inches.
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and its working very well.
Color Black hard rubber (BHR) with a gold filled filigree overlay. The overlay has large teardrop-like cut outs and is called alternating pinstripe and filigree.
Nib EXTRA FINE FLEXIBLE Conklin Toledo #3 nib is smooth with nice tipping material. It offers full flex and great line variation. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The patterns are well defined. There are small dents throughout, including at the top of the cap. The hard rubber is still a nice dark black. Brassing on the edges of the top of the cap. There are also small marks and scratches, but no cracks in the hard rubber. We've restored the pen and it's working very well. It has been personalized, "N.F."
