Product Name Crescent #3 Ring Top, we couldn't find an imprint on the pen.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in USA -- 1920s.
Length 4-1/2".
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black hard rubber with gold filled filigree and crescent. It is a 4-Leaf/Petal Filigree pattern with cutouts. The filigree is marked 14kt 1/5 which indicates 1/5th 14k gold filled.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Conklin #3 Toledo gold nib is very smooth with nice tipping. The tines spread very easily for strong line variation. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The non-covered parts of the hard rubber are a bit discolored. It's not that obvious when capped but the covered parts are noticeably darker. There are small dents and scratches peppered on the cap, likely from the high gold content. There are small cracks in the filigree on the barrel near the crescent locking mechanism. They're easily visible in the photographs. The patterning has held up well and the pen looks very good in hand. It's fully restored and working well.
