Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Endura Symetrik. It's not marked with "Symetrik", but this is the correct profile for that model.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Toledo Ohio – circa 1930s.
Length The fountain pen is 5-3/8" long, and the pencil is 5-3/16". We believe this is the standard size, but it might be the "large" size as we have not been able to find measurements. It's definitely not the oversize version, which is over 5-1/2" in length.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The mechanical pencil takes 1.1mm leads. A packet of leads will be included.
Color Black and Pearl. Gold plated trim. The pen and pencil have two gold cap bands each. Ends are rounded on both pieces. Both pieces have embedded crescents in the cap.
Nib FINE firm gold Endura nib. Large nib with a crescent-shaped breather hole. Very smooth with excellent tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition with fantastic color. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The fountain pen has light wear. The cap has light to moderate scratching. There are a series of tiny fine cracks in the cap lip, as can be seen in the photos below, but none of them even reach the lower cap band. We'd recommend taking some extra care not to drop the cap or post it. The crescent in the cap has a chip out of one side, which is visible in the first picture. The barrel has marks from capping and posting. The clip has a small touch of brassing near the open end, and around the top. The lever looks great. The bottom of the cap bands has some light pitting. The mechanical pencil has light overall scratching but no major marks. The clip has brassing on the top and bottom edges. The cone and bands look really good. The imprints are clear.
