Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Endura Symetrik (marked on the fountain pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Toledo Ohio – circa 1930s.
Length The Endura Symetrik came in three sizes, and this is the largest. The fountain pen is over 5-1/2" long, and the pencil measures 5-5/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The mechanical pencil takes 1.1mm leads. A packet of leads will be included.
Color Jade green with black veins, and gold plated trim. The pencil has two grooves in the barrel. Both pieces have two gold cap bands. Ends are rounded on both pieces. The color is bright and really stunning.
Nib MEDIUM gold Toledo nib, very smooth with excellent ink flow. The nib is soft, though there's no real line variation. It's a wonderfully smooth writing experience, and we couldn't resist making a writing sample.
Condition Excellent + condition with great color. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The fountain pen has light wear and scratching only. The lever, clip, and cap bands are all beautiful, with minimal brassing and no plating wear. There is some scratching on the sides of the clip, but it doesn't damage the plating at all. The crescent on the cap above the clip has shrunk a bit, but is intact and present. The mechanical pencil has light overall scratching, and one longer (1") smoothed out scratch. The cone has brassing around the very tip. The clip has splotches of plating wear on the top and bottom edges. One of the bands has a spot of plating wear. The imprints on the fountain pen are clear.
