Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen in working condition
Product Name Probably the Glider model. The nib is marked Conklin Cushion Point and the body is marked Conklin Chicago.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Chicago, 1939 to late 1940s
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and tested the pen and it works great.
Color Striped grey and blue. The trim was lightly gold plated, but the plating is gone from everything but the cap band. We have yet to see one of these that wasn't worn in the exact same way!
Nib 14k gold Conklin Cushion nib. Fine, with really good flex, verging on full flex. Excellent tipping material in evidence. The nib is in beautiful condition.
Condition Nice condition with good looking celluloid, but the trim is worn. No cracks or chips, and few marks but overall very shiny There is quite a bit of plating wear on the clip and lever, but the cap band is very good with almost no wear. (Perhaps evidence that these Chicago made last-gasp Conklins were indeed made up of left-over parts.) Really good visibility in the clear part of the section.
