Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen in working condition
Product Name Probably the Glider model. The nib is marked Conklin Cushon Point and the body is marked Conklin Chicago.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Chicago -- 1940s based off the lack of Toledo imprint.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and tested the pen and it works great.
Color Striped red, gray, and black. The trim was gold plated but the gold is very thin and mostly gone. The section is clear and then had black painted over most of it to create the illusion of a visiometer section.
Nib Medium 14k gold Conklin Cushon nib.The misspelling of "cushion" is on purpose. It is a vintage medium so more like a wet fine or a medium-fine with lots of springiness. We're hesitant to call it semi-flexible but it should allow for expressive or stub-like writing.
Condition Excellent condition. A fair amount of the black paint has come off the section near the face of the nib. Most of the gold plating is gone with some gold plating on the lever and hints of gold on the clip and cap band. No cracks or chips. There is a round scratch at the top of the cap and some handwear and cap marks. No major scratches and no dents, chips, or cracks. Really good visibility in the clear part of the section.
