Product Name Nozac Penline Word Gauge, very uncommon 8M version
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, USA -- 1930s.

Filling System "Quick-fill" vacuum filler. We've restored the filling system and it works great. The rod moves freely.
Color Green marble celluloid with black stripes and with an amber semi-transparent window for the "Word Gauge" system. The barrel is like a graduated cylinder where the tick marks show how many words can be written before the pen runs out of ink. It has gold filled trim and a 3/16" wide cap band decorated with a lined pattern. Black section.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE 14k Conklin Cushon Point nib. Not extremely flexible, we get line variation from fine to medium. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a shiny pen with a lovely pearlescent color pattern and with excellent amber transparency in the graduated barrel. The cap and barrel have moderate scratching, but we didn't want to polish it too aggressively and reduce the sharpness of the facets. The barrel work gauge imprint is crisp and clear. The cap band has a few small dents as well as moderate microscratching. The clip has plating wear all along the edges. The imprints are clear.
