Product Description
Type Very small lever-filling, ringtop vintage fountain pen in great condition.
Product Name This is the "short" size .... there was actually a shorter pen called the "midget."
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in USA -- circa 1924. These lever fillers came after the crescent filler pens.
Length 3-11/16" capped, and 5-1/8" long with the cap posted. Very slender
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Gold filled overlay over black hard rubber. The overlay has a "double V" chevron pattern, where two V shapes are joined and form a sort of W or an M (depending on your viewpoint).
Nib FINE Conklin Toledo 14k gold nib is tiny, very smooth, and has nice tipping. No flex.
Condition Excellent condition. The pattern looks great. The imprint is very clear. The lever bar has brassing along the sides; the top face looks great. The end of the barrel is dented and rough looking. There is some brassing around the last 1/4" of the barrel where the cap posts. There is some plating wear in the threads. The gold overlay at the very front of the section has a rough edge. The cap has light scratching. The edge around the top of the cap has shallow denting. It's fully restored and working well.
