Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Symetrik (marked on the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Chicago - 1930s
Length Both fountain pen and pencil are each 5-3/16" long.
Filling System Fountain pen is a lever filler. We've replaced the sac and it works great. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase. To extend and retract the pencil lead, you twist the very end of the barrel. The pencil takes "thick" 1.1mm leads.
Color Lovely mellow green marble, with gold plated trim.
Nib FINE gold Conklin Toledo nib. Smooth, with good tipping material. No flex.
Condition Excellent condition. The fountain pen has no cracks or chips. The barrel and cap material both look excellent. Microscratching, but less than you might expect from a nearly 100 year old pen. Both of the cap bands and the clip have some brassing. The lever looks fantastic. The imprint looks great. The pencil is in similar condition. The clip and bands both have more wear than on the pen, with brassing and some plating wear. The nose cone has a bit of corrosion at the opening, but the mechanism still works quite nicely. The pencil is personalized with "VERN DAVIS" (no personalization on the fountain pen). Both pieces are restored and ready to write.
