Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Conway Stewart 27
Manufacturer and Year Conway Stewart, made in England -- circa 1950s
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We replaced the bladder and it is working well.
Color Black and burgundy crosshatches. The trim is gold plated. The cap has a black jewel. The burgundy is much darker than the burgundy in a Parker or a Sheaffer and is more plum like.
Nib14k Double Broad Stub nib. It has some give for potentially even wider strokes than the already broad nib. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips, or bite marks. The color is a little faded, you can see the original color is brighter where the cap covered the barrel. There's a few very shallow marks on the wide cap band. The lever has some plating wear on its edges and the tip stands away from the barrel a bit. The black tip of the cap jewel is worn away. But there's barely any handwear on the pen and the imprint is very clear. It's a truly beautiful pen, working very well.
