Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name The fountain pen is a Conway Stewart 388 and the pencil is a Conway Stewart 33
Manufacturer and Year Conway Stewart, made in England -- 1950s
Length The fountain pen is 5" and the mechanical pencil is 5-1/8"
Filling System The fountain pen is a lever filler. We replaced the bladder and it is working well. The mechanical pencil takes "thick" or 1.1mm leads that extend and retract via twist mechanism. There is an eraser beneath the cap.
Color Marbled green design. It is dark green with gold plated trim including a trio of bands. The fountain pen has black pieces in the ends and the section.
Nib Extra Fine 14k Conway Stewart nib. The nib is very springy. It's just short of semiflexible.
Condition Excellent condition. The plating on the trim is excellent. The pencil cone and the end of the barrel have a few light teeth marks. The pen has some brassing on the lever and clip ring. The black paint on the top of the pencil is partially worn off and there is a slight gap between the pencil cap and barrel. Both pieces are working well with clear imprints and no personalization.
