Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Conway Stewart 550 "Dinkie" Pen Set
Manufacturer and Year Conway Stewart, England -- 1952-62.
Length The pen is 4-1/8" and the pencil is 4-3/8".
Filling System The pen is a restored lever filler and the pencil takes "thick" leads.
Color Both are marble red celluloid or casein with black veins and gold filled trim.
Nib 14k flexible fine Conway Stewart nib. It's very small with good tipping material. The tines spread easily and offer somewhere between a semiflexible and a flexible writing experience. (Please note there's a little dried ink on the nib in the nib close-up photo below.)
Condition Excellent condition in original box. The imprints are incredibly clear on both pieces. There's some plating wear on the clips and tassies as well as a mark on the cap beneath the tassie on the pen. The lever is a bit loose on the fountain pen but it's a negligible issue compared to the overall condition of the miniaturized set.
