Product Description
Type Vintage salesman's cut out "demonstrator" fountain pen
Product Name Model 52 based, we're not sure this unusual pen had a model number.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, 1920s
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler (We installed a new sac and it works very well.)
Color Hard rubber with gold filled trim. 1/2" wide band around the barrel.
Nib FINE Waterman's Ideal New York 2 nib. It is semi-flexible, with line variation from fine to broad. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. This pen was not intended for resale, and as such has thinly plated trim. Various areas of oxidation on the barrel. No cracks or chips. Clip and barrel band are both showing worn plating, as does much of the lever box. There are holes cut into the barrel and cap, showing the sac and just a hint of the nib respectively. No imprints, probably due to the cut out portions. The pen does work, but because of the extra exposure may be prone to drying out quickly.
