Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Model 94
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in U.S.A. -- 1930-8
Length 5"
Filling System Lever filler. We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.
Color Grey marble with red flecks. The trim is nickel plated.
Nib Medium-fine nib is marked "Red Waterman's Ideal". It is nicely flexible with good ink flow. See writing sample below. NOTE: there is a hairline crack in the base of the nib, starting from the bottom of the "T" in "PAT. OFF." With normal writing and flexing, it should not grow, and it will not affect the pen's performance. However if the nib is pulled it could worsen. We show the crack in a close-up below.
Condition Very nice condition with no chips or major scratches. The plating is typically thin, and the clip, cap band, and lever all have brassing and pitting. The imprints are very good. Nicely flexible nib that will give you a lovely writing experience. The barrel is personalized with the name "J. D. Chwan", which is largely camoflaged in the marbled patterning on the barrel. The crack in the base of the nib (mentioned above in the "Nib" section) seems stable.
