Product Description
Type Vintage piston-filling fountain pen
Product Name Transparant
Manufacturer and Year Unknown, possibly European. We did find there was a Crown Pen Company in the USA which existed from around 1897 until at least 1916, but this pen seems of a much later vintage.
Length 5-1/4" long
Filling System Piston filler. We have restored the seals and tested it and it's working very well.
Color Blue with a bit of lengthwise stripiness (it reminds of us of some vintage Esterbrooks).
Nib EXTRA-FINE 14k Warranted nib. There's an image of a buffalo or bison on it, and we found that this logo was associated with an entity called "Nichroma", which may be a German brand, but they usually also say Nichroma and this one doesn't. Truly a mystery. The nib is smooth and firm.
Condition Excellent condition. This is a nice little mystery pen with great ink capacity. The cap has light scratching and handwear. The clip ring has dots of pitting. The clip has brassing along the sides. The cap jewel looks great. The barrel also has light handwear and scratching. No bite marks or large scratches. The ink view window is clear.
