Product Name Unknown.
Manufacturer and Year Diamond Medal, Chicago, Ill. -- 1920s.
Length 4-7/16 inches, not including the ring top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Red mottled celluloid with gold plated trim, black ends, and thin bands of a cream color between the jade and the black ends. The wide 7/16-inch cap band is custom, with a round plate on it in an interesting "M" design in a beautiful blue color (see photos below).
Nib FINE firm Diamond Medal #5 14k nib is smooth with nice tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition, no cracks or chips. There are some marks on the barrel near the threads from the edge of the cap. The rest of the cap and barrel are fairly smooth and quite shiny. The section has faded on one side, but the underside is still quite dark. The lever bar has brassing on the edges. There is some plating wear around the letter on the cap band, but the cap band otherwise looks great. The imprint is very clear and easily readable. The ringtop hardware is firmly attached, with just a bit of brassing on the edges. We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
As mentioned above, the cap band is custom, with a large M design (see photos below). We see this model with the oriental-style letters fairly often.
