Product Description
Type Vintage ring top lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown.
Manufacturer and Year Diamond Medal, Chicago, ILL. – circa 1920s.
Length 4-5/16" not including the ring top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black celluloid with gold plated or filled trim, a wide 1/4" cap band, and thin white insert bands on either end, though the color of the one on the barrel has darkened to a sort of cream color.
Nib MEDIUM 14k gold Diamond Medal #2 nib is very smooth with nice tipping. There's some scratching on the top of the nib but this has no effect on its writing. It has just a give to it, no real line variation.
Condition Excellent condition except for some light scratching and wear on the cap, some microscratching on the cap band, and just hints of brassing around the edges of the lever. There's some very light scratching on the lower barrel, and as mentioned above the barrel's white band has darkened. No cracks or chips, dings or dents. It's fully restored and working well.
The cap is engraved "Elizabeth Hicks" (see photos below).
