Product Description
Type fountain pen set
Product Name Skyline Inspired Pen Set, could be related to the "Navy Pen" produced by Ohmi Yoko Co. from the 1970s
Manufacturer and Year Doctor, made in Japan -- Unknown.
Length The pen is 5-7/16" and the pencil is 4-7/8".
Filling System The fountain pen is a lever filler that has been restored with a new sac. The pencil uses a clicker mechanism and takes 0.9mm leads. The leads don't extend/feed consistently but the clicker mechanism does work and the pencil is somewhat usable.
Color Gray plastic with silver colored trim. The trim includes the majority of the fountain pen cap and a "cap" area on the pencil. The caps have grooved bands to decorate them. Both pieces heavily resemble the Eversharp Skyline from the 1940s.
Nib Medium Semi-flexible steel nib marked Special 836-3. The nib is very smooth and writes with good line variation. See the writing sample below. There is a gold colored piece of metal that goes over the slit on the nib. The clear feed has a little blue staining.
Condition Excellent condition. The "DOCTOR" imprints on the barrels and clips are very clear. There are a few marks in the silver colored trim. The pencil has a 3/4" long line on the barrel. It doesn't look like staining but it doesn't scratch off. The fountain pen has some chips on the cap derby near the metal piece that goes over it and there is a single chip in the pointed end of the barrel.
