Product Description
Type Rollerball Pen
Product Name Dress Pen (we think) in sterling pinstripe
Manufacturer and Year Dunhill, Germany -- 1980s. Dunhill itself is a company based in the UK, but it was bought by a German holding company in the 1980s when the pens started being made in Germany.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Takes international rollerball refills. International refills have slightly different lengths and tip lengths. Most fit the pen cone but they affect how deep the end piece goes into the barrel. The refill is accessed by removing the end piece. It is threaded and can get stuck if screwed in too tightly. We chose a Schmidt 888 ceramic rollerball refill to install. It leaves just a slight gap when the end piece is screwed in and prevents us from overtightening it. We did find refills that allows the end piece to screw in with no gap, but it made it a bit difficult to remove the end piece afterwards. The currently installed refill is new, working, and writes in black.
Color Solid sterling cap and barrel with a pinstripe pattern. The cap lip marks it as being sterling.
Condition Excellent Condition. The pen has handwear and a few marks but the patterning is intact and the imprints are all legible. There are only two noticeable scratches: one shallow one in line with the clip contact on the cap and one on the end piece. No major scratches, dents, or other marks.
