Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Eclipse, USA - circa 1920s or early 30s.
Length This is the oversize model. Pen is 5-5/16", pencil is 5".
Filling System The pen is a lever filler, we've replaced the sac and it's working very well. The pencil takes 1.1mm (or "thick") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism (you twist the cone).
Color Black and pearl finish with gold plated trim.
Nib FINE Eclipse 14k nib in nice condition. Fairly smooth with good tipping. It's got a just a little flex to it, with some line variation from fine to a larger medium.
Condition Excelent condition. The celluloid is a bit discolored with much of its "pearl" color appearing slightly yellow or greenish, but the color is fairly consistent from cap to barrel. There's some light scratching and marks, much less than you typically see. There's a tiny indent on the ball of the clip and on the cap band of the pen, but no real brassing or plating wear. There are tiny marks of plating wear on pencil's cone and the very edge of its clip, as well as microscratching on its barrel. Both pieces are working well with no chips or cracks, dings, dents, or personalization. The original box looks quite nice.
