Product Description
Type Lever filling desk fountain pen set, restored and working well.
Product Name Unknown - this is not one of the desk pens featured on the Esterbrook.net page, and we did not find much information on it.
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, made in USA -- circa 1950s.
Dimensions Pen is 7 inches long, the socket is about 2-1/2 inches tall when tilted straight up, the base is about 3-15/16 inches across in each direction by 3/4 inches tall.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black body and taper with steel or nickel plated trim, a later spoon style designed lever with a groove in it, and a band between the barrel and taper. The end of the taper is designed to look like there's a tiny black jewel on it. The base is smooth rounded black with a silver collored adjustable socket marked Esterbrook Made in USA.
Nib MEDIUM steel nib is marked only Esterbrook Medium. It's smooth and firm with a good tip shape but no iridium tipping like on the 1000 and 2000 series nibs. The nib-unit unscrews, like most Eversharp nibs, so you can easily swap it out for a different one. Our photos captured a strange rainbow coloring on the upper half of the nib, but this does not appear to the naked eye.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. There's some light scratching on the barrel and the taper. The base is lovely, with hardly any signs of use at all. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
