Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Esterbrook Dollar Pen - bandless version.
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, made in USA - this bandless version from the 1940s, a bit less common that other J series or Dollar pen models.
Length 4-3/4".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Blue with chrome plated trim and three grooves instead of a cap band.
Nib #2668 Firm Medium nib is smooth with a nice tip. Good condition.
Condition Excellent condition. There's some light scratching here and there, mostly on the cap. The trim looks quite good except for a few tiny dots of wear on the lever - this version of the dollar is almost always found with worse plating wear due to the thin plating they used in this era. There are a few tiny cracks on the end of the barrel sprouting from the middle, though these do not go far and they feel very solid so it is merely a cosmetic issue. No cracks or chips near the section or the cap lip, no dings or dents, and no personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
