Product Name Esterbrook LJ Double Jewel "Icicle" version
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, no imprint, unknown location of manufacture (likely Mexico but maybe USA) -- 1950s, towards the end of the LJ line.
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Lever filler (new bladder installed, works great).
Color Icicle Grey with steel trim. The gray is shiny and has an almost metallic appearance. is shiny and even toned with black stripes that make the pen an icicle. The gray is also semitransparent. There are two black plastic jewels at the end of the pens. The trim is steel.
Nib BROAD steel nib. It is smooth with nice tipping material and feed. It is a late nib unit and is equivalent to the 2968 Firm Broad nib. The 2000 series of nibs don't have any tipping material. Instead the tines are bent for a "DuraChrome" point. The Broad nib is cataloged as Firm Broad for general writing.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has handwear and small marks throughout but no severe wear. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. Cap transparency is good. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
