Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen with a really flexible special nib.
Product Name Pastels, First Generation (the jewels are black). This was a part of the J series.
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, made in USA - circa 1950-7.
Length 4-7/16".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Aqua colored cap and barrel with steel trim and black jewels.
Nib EXTRA FLEXIBLE EXTRA FINE #9128 nib. It's very smooth with nice tipping. This is by far the most flexible Esterbrook nib we have ever seen. Often the ones they called Flexible were only semi-flex, but this one is legitimately what we would call full flex, though not quite a wet noodle. It has very easy line variation from extra fine to double broad with little more pressure than the weight of the pen itself. Writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. There are some small marks and scratches on the cap and barrel, and some very light discoloration on the barrel. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization or plating wear. It's fully restored and working well.
