Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Esterbrook Safari .
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, made in USA -- made before 1958 (they started using metal caps after 1957 because the original plastic caps cracked very easily).
Length 5-7/16".
Filling System It takes Esterbrook cartridges, which are no longer made. This listing includes a new box of Esterbrook Ink Cartrdiges with Adapters. The cartridges have never been used though the ink is dried up. We recommend refilling via syringe. (We confirmed that standard intenational cartridges don't work without some extra padding around the side to keep them from wiggling in the socket.)
Color Blue body and cap with chrome trim.
Nib MANIFOLD MEDIUM Nib, #9460. This is a firm steel medium nib.
Condition Excellent Condition. There is only some handwear on the barrel. At the top of the cap to the left of the clip, there is a series of scratches. One scratch is deeper than the others. There is a shallow matching scratch on the top of the clip. The trim looks great. The imprint is clear and legible. The box of cartridges is NOS with adapters to use the cartridges in Sheaffer and Wearever Cartridge Pens. The ink in the 6 cartridges is in varying stages of dried up.
