Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil.
Product Name Doric II - this is one of the later "Airliner" colors.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, USA -- they started making this color in 1935.
Length 5-5/16"
Filling System Takes 1.1mm leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It firmly grips the leads and successfully extends and retracts them. The hole at the end of the cone is a bit squared and the area beneath the cap specifies the usage of square leads. Regular thick round leads seem to work though. An eraser can be fit beneath the cap but one is not installed.
Color "Lavender Shell," a marbled pattern of striped red-purple. It is really more like a gray burgundy than a proper purple but it's much less red than the Garnet Shell version so we are confident this is "Lavender." It has gold plated trim and a cut out patterned band at the top of the barrel.
Condition Excellent + condition. The top of the barrel has a few extremely shallow bite marks. There's some plating wear on the edges of the faceted trim and just so on the edges of the clip. At first glance the cone looks like it has some dents but it's just faceted like the rest of the pen. No cracks or chips. It's working very well.
