Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, rand matching pencil, estored and working well.
Product Name Symphony, model 500, first generation, as identified by metal barrel threads.
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, made in USA -- 1948-49.
Length 5-9/16".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The pencil takes .9mm leads.
Color Black section and barrel. Chrome plated cap and gold plated trim. We've seen the cap referred to as chrome plated and as stainless steel, but it's clearly plated based off of when we looked at caps with heavier wear. This is the original slipper cap style. The body has metal cap threads.
Nib Manifold Fine (as identified by sticker) Eversharp 14k nib. It writes smoothly. The nib is only slightly springy.
Condition New old stock, but there is quite a lot of pitting on the caps and the lever of the fountain pen (see photos below). No dents or major scratches. We've fully restored the pen and it is working well.
This model is very hard to find without pitting to the metal caps. We have a few sets that are in perfect condition, and some which have a little pitting, and this particular we consider to have a lot of pitting, and we have priced it accordingly.
