Product Name Symphony, model 500, first generation, as identified by metal barrel threads.
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, made in USA -- 1948-49.
Length Fountain Pen: 5-1/2"; Mechanical Pencil: 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The pencil takes .9mm leads.
Color Red section and barrel. Chrome plated cap and gold plated trim. We've seen the cap referred to as chrome plated and also as stainless steel, but it's clearly plated based judging by the ones we looked at caps with heavier wear. This is the original slipper cap style. The body has metal cap threads. Both barrels have original nib size stickers (yellowed and partically peeled down, but affixed).
Nib MANIFOLD MEDIUM (as identified by sticker) Eversharp 14k nib.
Condition New old stock condition, in box, and with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a bright red, shiny pen and pencil set that has vintage appeal. The fountain pen has moderate surface marks on the barrel picked up in storage. The cap has mainly light microscratching. The clip has light microscratching. The mechanical pencil has light to moderate scratching on the barrel portion. The cap portion has some light scratching, these are marks acquired by bumping up against the pen in the box. All imprints on both pieces are very clear.
This model is very hard to find without pitting to the metal caps. This particular set has no pitting.
