Filling System Japanese style eyedropper. These pens are built with a shut-off valve at the end of the barrel. To fill, simply unscrew and remove the nib section and pour ink into the barrrel compartment as you would be a normal eyedropper. To write, you must unscrew the knob at the end of the barrel slightly, in order to release the vacuum and allow ink to flow to the nib. This knob is attached to a rod that extends into the barrel. When the knob is flush with the barrel, the rod extends to a hole in the ink collector and cuts off the ink. The system has been restored with a new cork seal.
Color Black w/Gold Plated trim.
Nib Some flexibility. Nib says "Warranted 14k Golden Plated". See writing sample below.
Condition Very nice overall condition. This is an enormous (both length and girth) and impressive pen with a shiny surface. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The trim and clip have quite a lot of plating wear. The cap has some smudgy surface marks, mostly small, but one larger one near the cap band. The cap also has small dot marks here and there. There is a crack extending up and down from the right top corner of the clip which can be seen clearly in the photos. The feed has chips around the lip and bumps underneath the lip. The Japan imprint is clear.
