Product Description
Type Glass nibbed fountain pen.
Product Name "Bamboo Fountain Pen"
Manufacturer and Year Unknown, Japan - c. 1920s-1930s. The box says that it was imported by JMS in the United States. It's exacly like pens we've seen with the Korosu brand name, and similar to the Spors pens.
Length 5-1/4" long
Filling System Crescent filler. New sac installed.
Color Brown bamboo wood. Translucent amber glass nib.
Nib Glass. We can't really give a width estimate on this, because there is some chipping at the tip, and depending on how you hold the pen, you're going to get different results.
Condition Very Nice condition, in box with paperwork. An unusual find! Our research led us to a great discussion thread on Fountain Pen Network about a pen very similar to this one. The cap has some cracks - one extends the full length of the cap. The accomodation clip, as well as a thin strip of metal tape near the cap lip, is helping to hold the cap together, but we recommend that you take great care with this delicate item. The clip has brassing and dots of pitting. The crescent bar has plating wear on one side. There are some chips in the tip of the nib. Instruction sheet has a small tear, but is present and otherwise in good shape.
