Product Description
Type Vintage lever fill pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib.
Product Name Model 73 (marked on the barrel)
Manufacturer and Year John Holland, USA - 1920s
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Black chased hard rubber cap and barrel. Gold filled clip and lever.
Nib The nib is a #13 Holland nib. It is in excellent condition with very good tipping material. Very smooth medium to double broad line, flexible and almost full flex. (See writing sample below.)
Condition Excellent condition, with the only real flaw being a crack on the barrel toward the end -- see photo below. The crack does not come near the lever box and should be stable for another 80 years. The color is good and dark on the barrel and cap. The chasing and imprint are crisp. The plating is excellent.
This pen writes very smoothly with the right amount of flex for every day writing. The filling system is working well, and we'll guarantee it for a year.
Comes in the original Holland box, though it was meant for a two pen set.
