This is model #923. It is a high end White Dot pen. I believe this pattern was called "Flamme," and it also appeared in a model with all gold plating. This is a fairly hard to find model, shown on page 123 of the Lambrou book. It is standard length but slightly slimmer than the Imperials of the same era, and the sticker (on the medium pens only) says "L. Sheaffer" to indicate it was marketed to women.
Manufacturer and Year
Sheaffer - 1973
Length
The fountain pen is 5-1/8" capped
Filling System
The fountain pen is fitted with a Sheaffer squeeze style convertor. It can be removed to use cartridges.
Color
The body is rhodium and gold plate, according to the Lambrou book.
Nib
The nib is marked 14k. This semi-hooded nib style is called "Stylpoint" and it is the same nib they used on the Imperial I. (Please note that the Lambrou books shows this pen with a conical Triumph nib. According to our research, when these pens first came out in 1971 they were fitted with a short version of the Triumph nib; this was changed in 1973 to the type of "Stylpoint" nib which is on this pen.)
Condition
This is a "second" and has minor cosmetic damage. There will be one small area on the body or cap where the chrome finish is pitted. You will save $20-30 over the cost of a perfect example, and with this "busy" finish, you may not notice it at all!
The pen has never been used, and have been stored away for 30 plus years. I guarantee it is in perfect working condition, and offer a money-back guarantee. Please note that I cannot issue a full refund if the pen has been inked.
