Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen, working well.
Product Name Lady Sheaffer 925. It is a high end White Dot pen. This is a rather hard to find model, "Sea Spray", shown on page 123 of the Lambrou book. It is standard length but slightly slimmer than the Imperials of the same era.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, Australia -- circa 1973
Length The fountain pen is 5-3/16 inches capped
Filling System The fountain pen is fitted with a Sheaffer squeeze style convertor. It can be removed to use cartridges. Piston converters are too long.
Color The body is rhodium plated, resulting in a very shiny silver colored finish in a pattern called "Sea Spray." It's very similar to the barley corn pattern. It has a gold plated clip.
Nib FINE Sheaffer 14k gold "Stylpoint" recessed nib is smooth with lovely tipping material. It has some softness and give to it, but no real line variation due to its upturned shape. It is labeled that it was made in Australia and the section has an F on it. The nib imprint is a bit faded. (Please note that the Lambrou books shows this pen with a conical Triumph nib. According to our research, when these pens first came out in 1971 they were fitted with a short version of the Triumph nib; this was changed in 1973 to the type of "Stylpoint" nib which is on this pen.)
Condition Excellent + condition. No cracks or chips, personalization or plating wear. There's some marks on the section and light scratches on the smooth end pieces. The edge of the barrel has a slope to it that seems like it's from a large dent. Ships with Lady Sheaffer box.
