Filling System Sheaffer (standard, modern) cartrdiges are required. We tested squeeze converters and piston converters, even the impossible to find button converter, and none will fit. A small box of unused dried-up cartridges are included in the original box - but we will also include some fresh modern ones. The pencil takes 0.9mm (or "thin") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It has a few extra leads.
Color The bodies are black enamel with detailing in gold. These fish-scale patterns were called "Paisley Black" by Sheaffer
Nib FINE steel nib is marked Sheaffer made in USA. It is a short Triumph style nib, and it's smooth with nice tipping.
Condition Excellent condition. There's some very minor scratching on the section of the pen, and a few tiny, pinpoint chips in the black enamel on the pencil which hardly show. No personalization or severe damage, and their original box is rather uncommon and in great condition too.
