Filling System Sheaffer (standard, modern) cartridges are required. We tested squeeze converters and piston converters, even the impossible to find button converter, and none will fit. We will include a fresh cartridge. The pencil takes 0.9mm (or "thin") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. We will include a packet of leads.
Color The bodies are black enamel with detailing in gold. These fish-scale patterns were called "Paisley Black" by Sheaffer.
Nib FINE steel nib is marked Sheaffer made in USA. It is a short Triumph style nib.
Condition Excellent overall condition. This is a classic pen and pencil set in a great pattern and with shimmery shine. The fountain pen looks great with all the gold detailing intact. There is some light scratching on some of the black enamel areas. The cap band has some light chipping along the edges. The black end piece at the end of the barrel has chipped paint. The black top piece on the cap looks good. The mechanical pencil has light scratching on the black enamel areas as well as on the cone. There is some chipping on the black top piece of the cap and along the edges of the cap band. There are no imprints.
