Filling System Sheaffer (standard, modern) cartridges are required. We tested squeeze converters and piston converters, even the impossible to find button converter, and none will fit. We will include a few cartridges. The pencil takes 0.9mm (or "thin") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. Guaranteed for a year from the date of purchase on the filling system.
Color The bodies are black enamel with detailing in gold. These fish-scale patterns were called "Paisley Black" by Sheaffer.
Nib BROAD steel nib is marked Sheaffer made in USA. It is a short Triumph style nib.
Condition Very nice condition, in box, with no cracks. This is a classic pen and pencil set in a great pattern with a shimmery shine. The fountain pen barrel has small chips and scratches on the black paint. The gold squiggly lines are intact with some light scratching. The black end of the barrel has a little paint chip. The section has a scratch near the top caused by capping. The black paint on the cap has heavy chipping and is completely worn away near the top and along the cap lip. The top of the cap has dents and the paint is chipped. The black paint on the mechanical pencil has quite a lot of chipping including on top of the cap portion and along the edges of the cap lip. The gold lines are intact and look good. The cone has microscratching. The imprints are clear.
