Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen, new old stock, in box.
Product Name Lady Sheaffer IX -- part of the Skripsert line.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer -- 1960s.
Length 5-3/8 inches.
Filling System Cartridge/converter filler. The original package labelled "Push-Button Converter" is still stapled shut and we assume it contains a working button converter. Lift the flap in the box to access this converter and the instructions.
Color The body is gold plated with detailing in red. I've heard this "Tulle" pattern described as crushed chicken wire.
Nib MEDIUM the section is marked with the nib size, but this is clearly a mid-century conception of nib-size, because it's more like what would be called a fine on modern Western pens. The nib is gold colored and is marked Sheaffer's. It's a semi-hooded "Stylpoint" nib and it is found only on these clip-less Lady Sheaffer Skripserts, and on the Imperial I.
Condition Brand new, new old stock with just a few tiny of wear marks and scratches from storage. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. These Lady Sheaffers are very hard to find in good condition, as the finish damages easily, so finding one in this nice condition is a rarity.
The original box is in good condition, but the fabric that covered the pen tray has started to disintegrate with age.
