Product Description
Type Fountain pen and Mechanical pencil set
Product Name Lady Sheaffer VIII -- part of the Skripsert (clipless) line.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer - 1960s
Length Fountain Pen: 5-7/16"; Mechanical Pencil: 5"
Filling System The fountain pen takes standard Sheaffer cartridges. No converter is included. We tested it with a few different Sheaffer converters and none fit. That's the weird thing about these Lady Sheaffers ... some accept converters and some don't. The mechanical pencil takes 0.9mm leads. We will include a packet of leads.
Color The bodies are gold plated with detailing in black. The fountain pen has a black section. The mechanical pencil has the original price sticker on the cap portion. We've heard this "Tulle" pattern described as crushed chicken wire.
Nib FINE Stylpoint-like nib, probably gold plated.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a classically styled pen and pencil set with an excellent pattern and that is very shiny. The fountain pen has moderate plating wear and scratching as well as small pit marks sprinkled here and there (see photos). The mechanical pencil looks excellent, with light microscratching, some random small blotches of plating wear and a smattering of microdots of pitting. It has the original price sticker on the cap portion. The cone has moderate microscratching. There are no imprints on either piece.
